Most consultations across California are free or low-cost and come with a written treatment plan and price; ask whether the fee is in-network for your plan, what sedation options exist and how many visits the treatment takes. A second opinion is normal for implants, jaw surgery and full-mouth reconstruction, and reputable specialists expect it.

Really communicative, caring, and professional environment. I was particularly impressed with Veronica who provided a personal touch. Oral surgery is very invasive and a bit scary, but Veronica helped create a safe, comfortable, and calming environment for me. If I had a reason to go back I absolutely would!

Dr Shabtai and her staff are the best. It was my third time to go to Dr Shantai for a complex dental surgery. His staff were extremely respectful and caring. His surgical assistant was very knowledgeable and caring. Dr Shabtai as usual performed the surgery very skillfully with minimum discomfort to me during the surgery. A few hours after the surgery when I was at home the office called to make sure that I'm doing okay. He is highly recommended for any type of wisdom tooth extraction, other Dental surgical procedures and implants.

Outstanding experience with Dr. Shabtaie and his team. I had my upper wisdom teeth extracted, and everything—from start to finish—was handled with professionalism, skill, and genuine care. Dr. Shabtaie explained the procedure clearly, made me feel completely at ease, and the extraction itself was smooth and far less stressful than I expected. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and supportive—they really go above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable. I’m very grateful for the excellent care and highly recommend this practice to anyone needing dental work.

My wife’s wisdom teeth were starting to cause pain and her cheek got swollen so we had to find an oral surgeon who would take her immediately. We were so fortunate to find University Oral Surgery. Veronica the surgical assistant is so incredible and helped us get a first morning appointment the following day with Dr. Shabtaie, the oral/maxillofacial surgeon. What an amazing staff they have here! Dr Shabtaie is a staff member of UCLA Medical Ctr, as well as a clinical instructor, dental school graduate and residency graduate of UCLA. I believe he’s been in practice at this Westwood office for over 2 decades. Dr. Shabtaie was friendly, professional and explained all the options to us so well. We knew we were in great hands. He always put my wife’s well being first, and advised only the upper wisdom teeth be removed after closely examining the CT scan. They used IV sedation and Veronica put my wife at ease during the prep with her friendly conversation. IThe entire procedure only took about 45 mins and my wife didn’t even know the case had started due to the amnesia effects of the IV sedative. She was really anxious going in, but so relieved and happy when it was all said an

I had the best experience! I had to have an extraction and an implant. So 3 procedures in all over about 6 months. Every step of the way was amazing, both from the level of care to the bedside manner of all involved. I always felt informed, at ease and completely understood what was happening and what I could expect. Every procedure went off without a hitch and the recovery time was very fast and painless. It was just an all around pleasure - which is odd to say when having a tooth pulled and replaced with an implant! I would recommend to anyone.
